The ladder assumes a safe setup: wavelength-matched glasses, enclosure, exhaust and ideally air assist — cutting projects (3 onward) are noticeably easier with it. Material discipline matters from day one: basswood, ply, slate, and laser-rated leatherette only; the ban list exists because the failures are ugly.
